Starting with a very damp December morning, nobody fancied a soaking prior to our Christmas Dinner ride, so it was abandoned, with everybody meeting at Rolls Royce Social at 2:30 for drinks before sitting down to our traditional Christmas Lunch at 3pm.
Dinner was up to the usual exceptional standard, seating a total of 23 members.
The club Christmas Dinner is our traditional time to present any club awards for the last 12 months, these being the winners of the Jack Harrison Trophy: Roger Taylor, and the Bill Heywood Trophy: Peter Ramsden. Congratulations to both.
Additionally, certificates were awarded to those who completed our 100 mile challenge ride in August: David Tinker, Mark Clegg, and Roger Taylor.
And finally, a special award was given to Harry Taylor for completing Cycling UK's British Cycle Quest this year.
We finished the day with a numbers raffle, raising just over £100 which will be donated to the Lancashire and Yorkshire Air Ambulace Services.
