Tuesday 18th March 2025 saw the return of our annual inter-club quiz, this year with seven teams entering to compete for the much coveted Old Cranks trophy. Tradition states that the winners of the previous quiz had to set the questions, leaving us all one again at the mercy of Blackburn and District's exceptionally ruthless quiz-masters. As usual, the quiz was held at Boyce's Barrel in Colne, with the staff (being keen Chopper enthusiasts) entering their own team again.

Seven teams took part in the eight round competition, starting by pinpointing well known attractions on a map of Great Britain, such as Alton Towers, Blenheim Palace and Woburn abbey. We then moved on to rounds of traditional questions with topics such as what famous people's initials stood for (e.g. JFK), their occupations before coming famous, and the almost mandatory round on cycling.

This brought us to half time, and pie time, with a traditional Pie and Pea supper.

Points at the half way stage running very close:

Burnley & Pendle 40 points
Dopey Pedallers 36 points
Martins & Co. 35 points
T's & C's 31 points
Chopper Group 28 points
Clarion A 23 points
Last Years Winners 28 points

... putting us into the lead.

Supper over, and we continued with the final rounds on "Numbers", "Letters", and two rounds of General Knowledge leaving the final points tally (in order) at:

1st Place Burnley & Pendle 69 points
2nd Place Dopey Pedallers 66 points
=3rd Place Martins & Co 63 points
=3rd Place Last Years Winners 63 points
  T's & C's 62 points
  Chopper Group 58 points
  Clarion A 40 points

Congratulations to us - Burnley & Pendle CTC. We now get the dubious honour of setting next years questions.
