The Preston Guild Wheel is a 21 mile 'Greenway', walking and cycling route, that encircles the city of Preston, linking the city to the countryside.

Built by Lancashire County Council with support from Preston City Council the route was officially opened as part of the 2012 Preston Guild.

Our club ride on 21 April 2013 cycled over from our meeting point at Read via Whalley and York to meet the Guild Wheel at the Tickled Trout Hotel.

We then headed in a clockwise direction along the side of the river Ribble to the cafe in Avenham Park where we stopped for lunch.

Continuing on the Guild Wheel we passed through the dock area, before crossing the A6 and M6, and going through the Brockholes Nature Reserve and back to the Tickled Trout Hotel to complete our circuit. We then made our way back home.
